Shona was President of INTECOL,the International Association for Ecology, from 2013-2017 and is currently the Past President, and is a Committee member of the New Zealand Ecological Society (Past President). Shona is also a member of of the Ecological Society of America (ESA), the National Wetland Trust (NWT), the New Zealand Plant Conservation Network (NZPCN) and the Auckland Botanical Society. She is also an independent hearing Commissioner for Auckland Council.
Prior to consulting since 2011, Shona held advisory positions at the Department of Conservation in Wellington from 1987, and advisory management positions at Auckland Regional Council from 1996.
Colin is an Auckland-based ecologist providing a range of services to Myers Ecology.
Colin was a Conservation Officer at Upper Hutt City Council in the mid-1980's, then went into teaching for over 27 years from 1989-2015. He is currently assisting Shona with the day to day running of Myers Ecology. This involves all aspects of field work, health and safety, and administrative work.
Colin has a B.Sc. in Zoology: Ecology and an M.Sc. in Botany: Forest Ecology.
Prior to joining Shona in business, Colin was a senior Biology teacher at St Patricks College and Hutt Valley high School, both in Wellington, then over the past 20 years, a senior Biology/Earth and Space Science teacher at Long Bay College in Auckland. His interests have included SCUBA, white water kayaking, skiing, tramping, and body surfing
